Safeguarding
Safeguarding Children & Young People
Every child and young person who attends Reignite Movement has the right to feel safe, respected and supported.
Our commitment
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff, instructors, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.
Who this applies to
This policy applies to anyone under the age of 18 attending classes, workshops, events or programmes run by Reignite Movement.
DBS and safer recruitment
All adults working directly with children hold an enhanced DBS certificate with children’s barred list clearance. We verify qualifications, references and safeguarding training before anyone leads a children’s session.
Ratios and supervision
Sessions are staffed to appropriate ratios for the activity and age group. Children are never left alone with a single adult, and instructors work in pairs or within sight of other team members wherever possible.
Reporting concerns
If a child tells us something, or if we notice signs that concern us, we listen carefully, record what was said and report it to our designated safeguarding lead without delay. We will not investigate ourselves.
Photography and consent
We never photograph or film children without written consent from a parent or guardian. Where consent is given, images are stored securely and used only for the purpose agreed.
Contact us
If you have a safeguarding concern, please contact our designated safeguarding lead in person, by phone on 07379391180, or by email at info@reignitemovement.co.uk.
