Safeguarding & Child Protection
Reignite Movement is committed to creating a safe, respectful environment for children and young people who attend our services. This policy explains our approach; detailed staff procedures and confidential recording processes are maintained separately.

Designated Safeguarding Lead
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Cherri Locke. Safeguarding concerns about a Reignite activity can be raised through info@reignitemovement.co.uk.
In an emergency, or where someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
Our approach
- •The welfare of children and young people is a priority.
- •Staff and instructors are expected to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and follow Reignite safeguarding procedures.
- •Roles involving children are subject to appropriate suitability, recruitment, qualification, insurance and safeguarding checks according to the role and current legal requirements.
- •Concerns, disclosures and allegations are recorded and escalated through the appropriate safeguarding pathway.
- •Information is shared on a need-to-know basis where necessary to protect a child or meet legal safeguarding duties.
Supervision and collection
For drop-off activities, Reignite uses registration, attendance and collection arrangements. Parents and guardians provide authorised collectors and a collection passcode. A passcode alone does not authorise collection: we may request identification or contact the registered parent or guardian, and may refuse release where there is uncertainty or a safeguarding concern. See Children, Young People, Age & Supervision.
Photography and communications
Photography and video involving children is managed through separate consent. A child's participation in a class is not conditional on promotional photography consent. Staff and instructor communications with children must follow appropriate professional and safeguarding boundaries.
Health and additional needs
Parents and guardians should provide relevant health, allergy, medication, accessibility and support information needed for safe participation. We will consider reasonable adjustments and whether the activity can be safely supported within the service and the instructor's competence.
Concerns about staff or instructors
Concerns or allegations about an adult working with children are taken seriously and managed under our safeguarding procedures, including referral to the appropriate statutory pathway where required.
Review
This policy is reviewed periodically and whenever relevant guidance, services or safeguarding arrangements change.
